I took a chance buying this unit, I wanted it be good! I read all the negative issues on the Native Instrument help forums and thought, "an update or two and this unit will be solid." 2 Months and 7 days is how long mine lasted. There are more complex and robust controllers on the market but this has everything I need. Also, someone who doesn’t need 4 decks and more auxiliary inputs.
Overall, I’m pleased with my purchase and can’t wait to use it this weekend for a gig.Who is this suitable for? I would say a beginner or intermediate DJ who wants flexibility and may need to travel (it’s lightweight and easy to carry). The platters are nice and large and the knobs and sliders feel sturdy and easy to access.The only issues I have (they are minor) it only has one mic output, just RCA and no XLR for speakers and it’s not great for scratching (not that I need that but maybe you do). The deck allows you to easily use all the common features in Traktor’s all new software. You just long into their site and it takes your step by step. I use my MacBook but nice to know this is an option.
